The world is changing by the minute. This week the Australian Government ruled to outlaw open houses and auctions. The novel corona virus COVID-19 is having a huge impact on how real estate activities are conducted. Last week we posted how The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has recommended changes to the way private inspections are now to be conducted. With the latest news on even further restrictions on limiting social contact, Gardian has been forced to change the way we sell properties, below are two examples.

1. With no open homes we will now be producing ‘Virtual Tours’ of our properties. These video walk throughs of the homes will be posted to Facebook and uploaded to our Gardian YouTube Channel to gain maximum exposure; and

2. We will be holding our first ‘Virtual Auction’ next Monday night. If you are interested in any of the 6 properties, then please contact your Gardian agent to walk you through the couple of subtle changes in this purchasing process.

There are still people that must sell their homes and also people that have to buy properties. A home is a basic human need. The only thing that is changing is the way that we sell and buy homes. You can rest assured that Gardian will lead the way in innovation in our local market. Now is not the time to sit down because your chair has been moved.

Whilst on the topic of leadership, one thing has become quite clear of late is that in a time of crisis the cream rises to the top. With local government elections coming up this weekend it is important now, more than ever before, that we have the best leaders on our Mackay Council. Whilst there are many worthy candidates putting their hands up to guide our great region through these tough times, Gardian would like to put our support behind one of our lifelong clients and friends, Craig Menkins, who is running for the first time. We know that Craig is a selfless person who is active in the community and will do what is best for Mackay.

It’s a whole new world that we now live in. We need to change with it.
